At a distance of five kilometers Southeast of Volovets village The village of Guklivy is located on the slopes of picturesque mountains in the Transcarpathian region. The village has a population of just over two thousand inhabitants. At the entrance to the village is a relatively new one wooden church, a real masterpiece of folk architecture is hidden a little further away, near the turn to the Great Upper mountain.the Church of the Descent of the Holy spirit was built in the 18th century with elements of the Baroque style. The Church is built of logs on a Foundation of river stone on a clay solution. This verhovinsky masterpiece folk architecture – the oldest in all Volovets district. The temple is surprisingly slender and well-proportioned. Eight-meter high belfry – part of a remarkable architectural ensemble. According to the entry in the chronicle “Guklivsky chronicle”, the iconostasis of the temple was painted in 1784 German by the artist Frantz Pehr. From the same chronicle, you can learn that the village was founded by natives of Galicia Ivan Bobk and Peter Petskevich back in 1588.
Another attraction of the village is wooden nearby is the hut 1850, now located in Transcarpathian Museum of folk architecture and life.

For connoisseurs ski сhowever, near the village of Guklivy there is a highway with a length of 950 meters with a height difference of 180 meters.
And since 2002, in the second half of August, the village hosts The open Cup of the Carpathians in paragliding. “Winged” athletes during the week fly over Borzhava slopes.
