Seedlings of Japanese cherry, brought to the city over Uzh in 1923 from Austria. Nowadays, cherry trees are distributed throughout Uzhgorod. Most of them can be observed in the area of Galagi. The fact is that in the 1920s and 1930s, the Czech authorities actively developed this part of the city. Today it is the center of Uzhgorod. In the Czechoslovakian period of Glagov was a very swampy area. That is why the local soil was not suitable for many trees. The Czechs decided to plant cherry trees in Galaga, which have successfully taken root in a soft and humid climate.
Augustin Voloshin (1874-1945) - an outstanding teacher, political figure, President of the Carpathian Ukraine. He was born on March 17, 1874 in the family of a rural priest in the village of Kelechin in Mezhgorye. This is probably why he chose the path of theology and enlightenment. He studied at the Uzhgorod gymnasium, then at the theological faculty of the Theological Academy. From March 1897, he served as a chaplain in Uzhgorod, in the Tsegolnyansky Church. He continued his education at the higher pedagogical school of Budapest (faculty of mathematics and physics). Immediately after graduation, he began teaching at the Uzhgorod teachers ' Seminary ("preparandii"), and eventually became the Director of this institution.
Bogdan is a very beautiful Transcarpathian village, which is located near the Petros and Hoverla mountains. The length of the ski slope in Bogdan is 1500 meters. The track is equipped with a tow lift with ratrak. Ski lovers with experience should come here. For beginners and Amateurs, the ski track of medium difficulty in Bogdan is not the best option. However, it is a good option for professionals and experienced skiers.
