Rakhov has become a popular ski resort. The ski slopes here are located on Menchul mountain, which is located in the South-Eastern part of the Montenegrin massif (dovgota E: 24.21257 latitude N: 48.05480). Their level of difficulty is elementary and intermediate. They attract skiers by frequently changing the slope level. The length of the four trails is from 300 to 1400 meters. They are equipped with two types of lifts – tow and multi-lift. The height difference is 230 m.
Augustin Voloshin (1874-1945) - an outstanding teacher, political figure, President of the Carpathian Ukraine. He was born on March 17, 1874 in the family of a rural priest in the village of Kelechin in Mezhgorye. This is probably why he chose the path of theology and enlightenment. He studied at the Uzhgorod gymnasium, then at the theological faculty of the Theological Academy. From March 1897, he served as a chaplain in Uzhgorod, in the Tsegolnyansky Church. He continued his education at the higher pedagogical school of Budapest (faculty of mathematics and physics). Immediately after graduation, he began teaching at the Uzhgorod teachers ' Seminary ("preparandii"), and eventually became the Director of this institution.
At first, there was a wooden fortification on the site of the Khust castle. Later, on the orders of the Hungarian kings, the fortress was rebuilt and made of stone. This reconstruction took a century from 1090 to 1191. Today, the remains of the fortress are barely visible through the trees. In the middle ages, Khust castle was known as an impregnable fortress.
The village of Osiy in the irshavsky district of the Transcarpathian region is a popular place for skiing holidays. Here, in the Kamenka tract, there are two tracks of initial and medium difficulty. They are equipped with rope tows and a snow groomer. At night, the tracks are illuminated.
Brown bears in the Ukrainian Carpathians mostly live in old forests, which make up 70% of the entire Carpathian forest. An important requirement for the existence of a brown bear is the presence in the forest of a dense shrubby layer, windbreaks, ravines, where it has the opportunity to hide during the day
Mezhgorye from 1415 to 1953 was called Volovoe. There are 9421 inhabitants in Mezhgorye. The village is located in the river valley. Here are the highway Khust-Dolyna and the Volovets-Mizhhiria. The nearest railway station is Volovets, 32 km away.
Today Mezhgorye is one of the tourist centers of the region. There are Hiking trails, equipped ski trails, resorts, hotels and camp sites.
