If you walk through the rural surroundings, you can hear the sound of swampy ground chomping. It is because of this sound under the feet of farmers who fled to these places from their masters, and the name of the village is really chomping around (“chomping circle”). One more legend connects the origin of the village name from the Kolochavki river, which flows through the village. The name of the river comes from its turbulent nature. The turbulent river of muddy (colectomy). According to another legend, once upon a time in the village Ust ‘ -Chorna they sent a young peasant named Chawka, who came from a poor family, to serve in the army. Chawka ran away from the service and settled in the forest, even married a girl from Ust-Chernaya. When her mother was asked where her daughter went from the village, and answered “Kolo chawki”. And there was the village of Kolochava.

On a hill in the center of the village, to the left of the highway, stands the majestic Holy spirit church with belfry. The temple was built in 1795 by the master Ferenc Tekka. The Church is slender and perfect in proportion: the high tower above Babinets is completed baroque dome. The wooden two-tiered bell tower, which stands next to it, is covered with tin. Due to the sectarian disputes between Orthodox and Greek-Catholic religious communities of the village the temple is empty and represents the museum . Last restoration Castle and the bell tower was held in 1969-1970.

Kolochava is known primarily as the village Museum. There are as many as ten Museum institutions operating here.
