The Museum was founded on 20.06.1945. Then it was called the people&#8217;s Museum of Transcarpathian Ukraine and was located in 17 rooms.<a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/transcarpathian-art-museum\/\">Juanita<\/a>. The Museum consisted of departments<a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/uzhgorodskij-skansen\/\">Ethnographies<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/unikalnij-muzej-gir\/\">natures<\/a> and social construction. In June 1946, the people&#8217;s Museum was reorganized into a local history Museum and moved to<a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/legend-about-uzhgorod-castle\/\">The Uzhgorod fortress<\/a> in March-April 1947. At that time, there were 10,000 exhibits. The numismatic collection, which includes more than 12,000 ancient Roman and Austrian coins, is also of great value, <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/zakarpatski-ugorci\/\">Hungarian<\/a>, Polish, <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/mini-skulptura-iglavski-izhachki\/\">Czech<\/a>, Ukrainian and other banknotes. The collection of rare books attracts attention. it includes the Ostrog Bible in 1581 by Ivan Fedorov, the Russian Bible in 1519 by Francis Skorina, and the Royal gospel in 1401.
