The village of Zhdenievo is located in Volovets district <\/a>Transcarpathian region at an altitude of 542 m above sea level, near the mountain Pikuy and the crystal clear river Zhdeniyivka.<\/p> \n \n

There are several legends that tell about the origin of the name of the village Zhdenievo. According to one of them, in ancient times, a beautiful Eva lived in the village. When her fiance was supposed to marry her, the war suddenly broke out, and the guy was almost taken from under the crown to the army. When he said goodbye to his beloved, he carved a memorial on a tree: “Wait for me, Eva”. Unfortunately, the guy died heroically and Eva did not wait for him. Over time, when almost everyone forgot about this sad love story, a representative for renaming localities came to the village. Not knowing about the background of the inscription on the tree, he decided that this is the name of the village. I wrote it down in my papers: “Zhdeniyevo”.<\/p> \n \n

According to another legend, long ago, in these scenic spots have fled from war Ukrainians, Eugene, Rocked, Minho and Gizmo. After they spent the night in the mountain wilderness and in the morning saw the indescribable beauty of nature, Eugene suggested that his friends stay forever in this green Paradise. It is from his name that the name of the village is derived: Zhdenivka-Zhdenievo.<\/p> \n \n

For skiing in Zhdenievo, there is one track 800 meters long with a height difference of 200 meters. The track is equipped with an 850-meter-long ski lift and a snowmobile.<\/p> \n \n

Very experienced instructors work in Zhdenievo, so it is useful to come here for beginners who are just trying to learn how to ski or snowboard.<\/p> \n \n

To get to Zhdenievo: you can take a bus or minibus. On your own car from the district center Volovets village<\/a> Zhdeniev is only 15 kilometers away. You can take the train to Volovets station, and then you can change to a bus or taxi.<\/p> \n \n
