If you go with Coastal<\/a> aside Vinogradov<\/a>, then the first village on the way will be Muzhievo. The first written mention of the village reaches 1232. The population of the village is two thousand people. In a village known for its vineyards<\/a>, two ancient ones have been preserved temples<\/a>: ruins of the Dominican Church in 1117 (rebuilt in the XVI century) in the field behind the village from the Coast and later church<\/a> XVIII century (according to other sources-XIV century) in the center of the village. The location of the ancient temple can be found by a special index “architectural sign”, which in the Transcarpathian region indicates almost all interesting places from a tourist point of view. The ancient Dominican Church was destroyed by Polish troops in 1657. On the walls of the ruins in the 20s of the XX century, you can see the remains of frescoes. Now without a roof, the structure looks defenseless. It recently celebrated its 900th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n

A thousand years ago, near Mujiev began to extract gold, as evidenced by the found picks and lamps of the XIII century. Although there are hypotheses that the first gold diggers in these places were the Celts and Romans. Gold veins lay in soft kaolin, which in the XVIII century was used to make fine Viennese porcelain. About the gold reserves of Mujiev wrote in the XIX century the Austrian geologist K. ZIPS and Hungarian<\/a>scientist J. Szabo. Gold was mined here and German<\/a> colonists, did not prevent the locals from calling the mines in the mountain “Turkish tunnels”. Now dumps rise above the village mountain<\/a> rocks from the field, creating environmental problems.<\/p>\n\n
