Almost 85% of the district&#8217;s population is <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/ethnographic-characteristics-transcarpathia\/\">Ukrainians<\/a>. It is also home to Hungarians, Roma, Germans, Russians, Slovaks and representatives of many other nationalities. On the territory of the area there are 88 settlements.<\/p>\n\n<p>The area of the district is almost 1000 square kilometers. The area is extremely rich in minerals. It even produces its own natural gas. In addition, a large number of medicinal plants have been discovered in the area <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/glory-mineral-water-transcarpahia\/\">mineral spring<\/a>. The most famous of them is the source in the sanatorium <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/unikalnij-sanatorij-sinjak\/\">Bruise<\/a>, mineral water from which is used for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system.<\/p>\n\n<p>Most of the district&#8217;s territory is occupied by mountains. The area of the district&#8217;s forests is more than forty thousand hectares. Forests are extremely rich in valuable advice <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/bokorashy-heroes-rafting\/\">woods<\/a> (oak, beech, spruce) and hunting fauna.<\/p>\n<div href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/ugolskij-masiv-pechernij-raj-karpat\/\">caves<\/a> (Hornbeam). The largest rivers Latoritsa and Witnica. There are a lot of swamps in the area (Salty Mlaks), as well as a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/unique-tereble-ricka-hes\/\">reservoirs&#8217;<\/a>, intended for fish breeding.<\/p>\n\n<p>There are as many as 20 nature reserves in the district.&#13;\nOne of them \u2013 &#8220;Carpathians&#8221; &#8211; is of national significance.<\/p>\n\n<p>The area is extremely rich in architectural monuments.
