Mini-sculpture of the king of pop art Andy Warhol was installed on December 6, 2014. It became the tenth anniversary in Uzhgorod<\/a>. It is located on the square Zhupanatska in Uzhgorod near Transcarpathian regional art Museum named after Joseph bokshay<\/a> (GPS: 48.625372, 22.296508). <\/p>\n\n

Andy Warhol’s sculpture is made of 2 kg of bronze by the famous sculptor Mikhail Kolodko and Koval Vasily Krivanich. The authors of the idea of installing this mini-sculpture are the sculptor Mikhail Kolodko and the tourist scholar Fedor Sandor. Petite Andy shoots the camera to the side Slovak<\/a> school. This can be seen as a certain symbolism, since the parents of Andy Warhol, who was born in the United States, come from the territory of modern Slovakia. It is also interesting that the sculpture has its back to the Museum. As noted by the author of the sculpture Mikhail Kolodko, the reason for this placement is the lack of works by Warhol in this Museum. He promised that he would turn the mini-sculpture towards the art Museum as soon as the Warhol painting appeared there.<\/p>\n\n

At a distance of 15 km from Uzhgorod in Medzhilabirci in Slovakia \nthe Warhol Museum of modern art operates. However, the most complete collection of his works \nlocated in the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania), where more than 8,000 are collected \nhis works, which he created in his art Studio “Factory” in new York. Vorgol was guided by \nthe idea of mass creation of works of art in the same way as factories produce on conveyors \nproducts for supermarkets, it attracted its superstar guests to the creative process, \nand that’s why the Studio became a factory. It was also called the silver factory, because everything is inside \nit was painted silver, and there were pieces of foil scattered on the floor, and on the \nceilings-mirror balls are placed. The original legend of the mini-sculpture “Andy Warhol” \nNadezhda Popadyuk tells In her book “Uzhgorod \u2013 the world capital of mini-sculptures”. \nAccording to legend, in 1962, when the warhall factory had just started operating and was not yet in operation \nso Bohemian, it was visited by a young sculptor from Ukraine, who introduced himself to Vorgol \nas a countryman of his parents, because at that time he lived in Uzhgorod, only 113 kilometers from \nthe village of Mikova, where they were from. She was a very important person in life, because she was the one \nI inspired him to make creative art, because I made and sold flowers from canned food \ncans and corrugated paper, taught to draw and make collages from newspaper clippings. Vorgol \nand his unusual guest talked for more than two hours and at parting Ukrainian \nthe sculptor gave Andy a rare camera, which the owner liked very much \nthe silver factory never parted from him again, and it was with his help that he \nmade the best photos that went down in pop art history.
