In the village. Vyshkovo is the remains of another powerful medieval Transcarpathian castle’s<\/a>. In historical sources, the castle was first mentioned in 1271. The castle was built by the brothers Mick and Istvan chepa from the family of Gunt-Pazman. He gave them the land for its construction Hungarian king<\/a> Laszlo IV. Castle decided to build in very handy from a defensive point of view place on the mountain Farhadi (translated from the Hungarian<\/a> “castle hill”). From a height of 589 meters, the castle controlled “salt path<\/a>“. During the years 1300-1350 vyshkovsky, the castle was the centre Maramorosh Committee<\/a>. However, soon all the functions of protecting the “salt path” were transferred to a more powerful neighboring one Hust castle<\/a>, and vyshkovsky began to gradually decline.<\/p>\n\n

Today at the foot of the castle mountain in Vyshkovo there are buildings that are inactive metallurgical combine<\/a>. In Soviet times, mercury was extracted from the volcanic bowels of Varhedi. Climbing the mountain, you can see the sinkholes of abandoned mines and stone placers \u2013 natural building material, and on the top-a platform, successfully chosen by medieval architects for the castle guard.<\/p>\n\n

The population of Vyshkovo is just over eight thousand people. In the village, in addition to the remains of the castle, there is a defensive gothic church<\/a> 1270 with a painted wooden ceiling in 1789.<\/p>\n\n

The local population is engaged in making Souvenirs from corn leaves, among which you can find baskets<\/a>, handbags, toys, and rugs.<\/p>\n\n
