The art of making wine in our region goes back to the distant centuries. Cultivation grape’s<\/a>the first were engaged in Silver land<\/a> Celts<\/a>. They lived on the territory of modern Transcarpathia in the first Millennium BC. Transcarpathian unique climate<\/a> contributed to the ancient masters of the vine. In Transcarpathia, with its warm Sunny summers, mild winters, fertile soil, terrain, everything seems to be specially created for planting vine<\/a>. Later, the Romans brought with them new, more advanced technologies. After the Romans came Teutons<\/a>– the Ostrogoths, the Huns, the Slavs and then Hungarians<\/a>. \u0412 XII-XIX centuries<\/a> the Italians and French <\/a>delivered and spread into our region from the choicest varieties of the vine. In particular, thanks to them, such table varieties as white and red shasla, fragrant Pasatutti, as well as wine grape varieties \u2013 Furmint, Fetyasku, white Bagator, Italian Riesling have become widespread in our region. All the above-mentioned peoples have contributed to the development of wine-making art in Transcarpathia.<\/p>\n\n

Every year on the Old New year in the city Mukachevo<\/a> the festival “chervene Vino” is held. Winemakers from all over the region come to the festival to show off their products, exchange technologies and recipes. During three days on the Central square of the city, festival guests can taste Transcarpathian wines and buy the one that they liked the most.<\/p>\n\n
