The highest peak ukrainian carpathian mountains <\/a>there is a mountain Hoverla, whose height is 2061 meters. There is a legend that in ancient times, when our region was part of Hungarian Kingdom<\/a> the highest peak of the silver land is no small name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A famous Hungarian Baron, Janos nod, decided to climb this mountain and give it his name. With him he took the best warriors, horses, and provisions and set out on the road. It was in the height of summer. The discoverers overcame dense thickets of forest<\/a> and they came to the foot of the mountain. But then dark clouds gathered, a strong wind rose, and snow began to fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inhabitants of the warm Hungarian plain could not have predicted that such a weather<\/a> maybe in the middle of summer. They stopped climbing and started running, shouting, ” howar! Howar!”, which in Hungarian means “snow castle<\/a>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under other version Hungarians<\/a>, fleeing from the mountain, shouting ” Goverla! Hoverla”, which means”mountain in the snow”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of those who climbed the mountain, no more than a third of the people survived. The rest died of hypothermia, including the proud Baron. Since then, the mountain has been called Khovar or Hoverla. The weather at its top is really very changeable. Here sometimes in summer snow or hail falls, its top is often covered with clouds, and lightning strikes the slopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
