The Latin text on the memorial stele in translation means that this is the place where, with the help of a special device made in the <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/dinastija-gabsburgiv\/\">Austria-Hungary<\/a>, the center of our continent is established. The geographical location of this point is 48 degrees 30 minutes North latitude and 23 degrees 23 minutes East longitude. At the end of the XIX century, the Austro-Hungarian government paid great attention to the development of science. Therefore, by order of the General staff of the Austro-Hungarian army, the necessary measurements were made and it was established that the center of Europe is located on <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/rahivskij-rajon\/\">Rakhiv<\/a>. It should be noted that this sign is not the only one. Similar &#8220;true centers&#8221; are located in Belarus, Poland, and Austria, <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/zakarpatski-nimci\/\">Germans<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/go-to.rest\/blog\/zakarpatski-slovaki\/\">Slovakia<\/a> and Lithuania. Different calculation options define the borders of Europe in different ways: along the coastline of the mainland, taking into account coastal or remote Islands (Svalbard, Frank Joseph Land) , and so on. Therefore, there is no single point of view on the solution of this issue. We are sure that the center of Europe is located in Ukraine.
