The village of Plavya (Plavye) is located in the Stryi district of the Lviv region. It is located in the middle of the picturesque valley of the Plavie and Brynivka rivers. You can reach the settlement from Stryi (68 km), Lviv (141 km), Ivano-Frankivsk (166 km). The Kyiv-Chop highway passes nearby. The village was founded in 1523.

The village got its name from the woodworking industry, where wood was floated along the river that flows next to the settlement. In 2007, the Plai ski complex was opened, thanks to which the village became popular.

Плав'я

Ski resort is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. The season for skiing is from December to March. There are six tracks, they have different levels of difficulty. If necessary, equipment can be rented. You can go not only on skis, but also on sleds or snow tubes. It is possible to visit the massage room and sauna.

Lovers of wooden sacred architecture will be interested in the Church of John the Baptist from 1905 and the modern church of St. Michael the Archangel, built in 2010.

When visiting Plavje (Plavje), you should also visit the National Culture Museum, where you can get to know the traditional lifestyle of local residents.

In the summer months, there are also activities: swimming in a mountain river, hiking and biking, and horseback riding.
